GOVERNOR Rochas Anayo Okorocha of Imo State has mapped out land for journalists, commissioners and top government officials in the state to get involved in agriculture.
He made this known while addressing newsmen at the NUJ Press Centre in Owerri.
According to him, loans would be made available to help those who would be involved in agriculture, adding that this would assist in boosting to food production in Nigeria.
Chief Okorocha revealed that more than 200 hectares of land, which he cultivated in Awara in Ohaji/Egbema local government area, would be ready for harvest in May 2017.
The governor stated that his administration would be conducting local government elections between September and October, 2017.
On the relocation of Imo State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) secretariat, he said a large percentage of work had been completed.
According to him, Ama Hausa, Ekeukwu Owerri all on Douglas Owerri were to be relocated, pointing out that Owerri judiciary complex on Orlu road would also be relocated to new Owerri, Port Harcourt axis.
He said that a gas plant, one of the biggest in Nigeria, had been located at Awara in Ohaji/Egbema by the Federal Government at the cost of N7 billion.
