Jos Disco introduces feeders management system, bilateral arrangements

Published by

Arrangements have been concluded by the Management of Jos Electricity Distribution Plc to commence the much-anticipated Feeders Management System and the Bilateral Arrangements to enhance efficiency
and effectiveness in the distribution of energy to its customers.

The Management in a statement signed by the company’s Head, Corporate Communications, Dr Friday Elijah said the Feeders Management System and the Bilateral Arrangements will begin
from 1st November 2024.

According to the company, under the new scheme, customers are expected to enjoy a qualitative supply of electricity in consonance with their bands uninterruptedly as robust mechanisms have been put in place by the Management aimed at customer satisfaction.

It pointed out that about seventy-six feeders that are on Band A have been selected for the scheme while adequate arrangements have been made to ensure uninterrupted power supply to customers in those feeders as dictated by the Band A schedule of electricity supply just as customers must be required to pay for their consumed energy.

The statement further added that the management has constituted a seven-member team comprising a Team, a Network Engineer, a Marketer, etc, for each feeder.

“The team, in addition to ensuring that energy is delivered to customers unhindered, would be saddled with the responsibilities of billing post-paid customers, fostering collaboration and teamwork that would lead to customer satisfaction in their feeders.

“But in whom much is given, much is equally expected; therefore, while the company will be delivering energy to its customers 100%, customers would be required to pay for their consumed energy 100%. There will be nothing like partial payment for consumed energy going forward. All monthly bills must be settled in full.

“To this effect, the feeder Management staff have been adequately equipped to ensure that only customers who are not in default in payment for their consumed energy would be the only ones to enjoy electricity supply as all defaulting customers will not be allowed to be on supply”

The company therefore enjoined customers to embrace the new scheme to be served better.
