This was disclosed to a journalist by the Special Adviser to governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba state on students matters Hon Samson Tormusa.
The Taraba students in the University of Jos became traumatised in the school after one of the student was killed by a military man on Friday as a result a search of Army General in Jos.
Tormusa who address pressmen in Jalingo Taraba state capital on Friday said the situation create so much anxiety among parents of the students in Taraba on Sunday when the students started calling from Jos that the University was under attacks.
He said governor Darius Ishaku quickly mobilize security and eighteen buses to evacuate the students from University of Jos.
“The governor quickly mobilize security and we were given eighteen buses to evacuate the students from the university, we were suppose to bring back 423 according to statistics, while getting there we discovered that some of the students found their way out of the school.”
“We were able get 383 of them within the school campus in a very traumatized situation, they were hungry and lonely in the school campus at the time we went there”
“While we got to the school, we discovered that a boy from Takum local government of Taraba state who went to the school to get adimision was also killed in the school, though he is yet to get adimision into the school.
We brought them back and we arrived Jalingo on Thursday at about 4 am, we were also able to send them to their various parents without hitches.”
Speaking to Tribune online, one of the parents Mr. David Gaya appreciate governor Darius Ishaku for rescue the students from the situation.
Gaya said the prompt action of the governor to rescue the children was capable of stopping other unknown incidents that could have happen with the students while in the campus.
