Former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has offered his condolences to ex-Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd), on the passing of his younger sister, Hajiya Salamatu Asabe.
Dr. Jonathan expressed his sympathies and prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased. He encouraged General Abdulsalami to find solace in the impactful life lived by his sister.
In a statement released by his spokesman, Ikechukwu Eze, the former President acknowledged the grief experienced by Gen. Abdulsalami and his family members, and he prayed to God to grant them strength and peace to endure.
He said, “The death of a loved one is always a painful experience, no matter his age or achievement in life. I acknowledge that this is a sad moment for you and other members of the family but urge you to take solace in the fact that Hajiya Salamatu Asabe lived an impactful life.
“I pray that God grants you strength and peace during this period and beyond. On behalf of my family, please accept my condolences.”
