Jigawa police arrests 3-member of syndicate stealing submersible pumps, water insulations

THE Jigawa State police command has arrested three members of syndicate specialised in stealing the submersible water pump device mounted on boreholes across the state.

Parading the suspects yesterday at the police headquarters, the command public relation officer SP Audu Jibjiri said the achievement was part of the command duty.

Adding that the command has succeeded in arresting three persons Shu’aibu 34 years, Dauda Yakubu 25 years and Dabo Musa of 27 years all from Badawa quarters in Nasarawa local government, Kano state.

Saying the suspects were arrested in possession of hammer, hoe, hacksaw, iron road, flier, set of screwdrivers and military camouflage which they used in their operations.

Jubjiri also disclosed that in the course of the investigation the suspects confessed to have been responsible for the theft of submersible water pump devices in Taura local government area of the state.

Adding that “we have been receiving reports that some people are stealing these kinds of devices installed by government in order to provide potable water to the peoples of the areas”

“These criminals are causing a lot of sets back on the government policies and program and will be handed over to court after the investigation,” he stated.

He called on the general public to help securities agencies with useful information that will help in fishing out the criminals in the societies.

He, therefore, assured the police readiness to continued protecting the lives and properties of Jigawa state people.
