Jigawa State Governor Malam Umar Namadi has approved the formation of a Fact-Finding Committee to investigate the recent violence during the national EndBadGovernance protest held on August 1, 2024.
The announcement was made by the State Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture, Mr Sagir Musa.
He stated that the decision was reached at a state executive council meeting chaired by Governor Namadi.
Mr Musa explained that the committee, which comprises 17 members, will be led by the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice.

Tribune Online reports that the state government incurred significant losses during the EndBadGovernance protest, including 106 trucks of fertiliser and over 4,063 bags of improved seeds from the Birnin Kudu Seeds Centre, which were looted.
Commissioner of Justice Barrister Bello Abdulkadir Fanini provided these details during a briefing after the council meeting in Dutse.
He also revealed that 403 suspects have been arrested in connection with the protest and the associated looting. Some suspects have already been charged and prosecuted.
