Management of Jigawa State College of Education Gumel has commended the state governor, Malam Umar Namadi for the release of over N17 million and settled an outstanding payment for casual workers who were disengaged last year (2023).
This is contained in a statement issued, signed, and made available to Tribune Online in the state by the registerer of the college, Malam Bala Isyaku, said the college had started the payment to beneficiaries.
According to the statement; “The total sum N17,028,000 is for 203 casual staff whom were disengaged in 2023 after successfully screened by the committee set up by the collage”.
Malam Bala Isyaku noted that “the collage commenced the payment via online through the United Bank for Africa (UBA) last Friday 22/10/24 after the conclusion of the screening exercise conducted by the management staff with supervision of Council members”.
The statement maintained that, there are about 14 staff is yet to appear before the committee, the registerer urged them to avail themselves at the college to be screen for their immediate payment as approved by the governor Malam Umar Namadi.
Malam Isyaku pressed the College provost Professor Nura Muhammed Ringim, appreciation to the Jigawa state governor for his passion for transforming the education sector and workers’ welfare.
