THE Jigawa State House of Assembly suspended its majority leader and chief whip of the house, Alhaji Sani Ishaq and Mr. Aminu Sule Sankara for six months over alleged interference with the house investigation on financial spendings.
This was revealed by the House Committee Chairman on Information, Aminu Zakari (APC Gwiwa) while speaking to reporters after the house sitting.
Zakari said the All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers were suspended with a view to allowing for fair investigations into allegations of financial impropriety.
According to him, both the members allegedly attempted to retrieve some financial documents from the ministry of finance to prevent the committee of investigation set by the house to investigate financial misappropriation between 2017 and 2018.

When contacted, Ishaq representing Gumel constituency and Sankara representing Ringim constituency both denied the allegation, saying it is not honourable for a house member to engage in the act.
In another development, the speaker of the State Assembly, Alhaji Idris Garba communicated to the house the proposed names of some eleven commissioners by the governor.
Among the names, only three former commissioners were returned.
