THE Jigawa state government approved the awarding contract of the constructions of first phase of a new specialist Hospital at the cost of N1.5 billion at Hadejia metropolis on a land acquired along Nguru Road.
This was disclosed by the state’s commissioner of Information, Youth, Sport and Culture, Alhaji Bala Ibrahim while briefing news men on the outcome of the state executive council meeting presided by governor Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar.
Alhaji Bala ibrahim explained that the contract was awarded to Messrs PHILKO LTD “at the total sum of N1,593,314,294.25k only with a completion period of 16month”.
According to him this is parts of campaign promises to construct two specialists hospitals at Hadejia and Kazaure in addition to the existing Rasheed Shekoni Specialist Hospital in Dutse.
He state that project is in line with the present administration of governor Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar to improve health services delivery in the state especially as it relate to tertiary health care.
Ibrahim disclosed further that council has also directed the ministry of Land, Urban and Regional Planning to expedite action to secure a suitable land for Kazaure specialist Hospital to be awarded in due course.
