Africa’s leading mobile phone brand, itel Mobile, has stepped up his support for the advancement of Nigeria’s education, as it extended its monthly ‘Love Always On’ campaign to the North-West zone of country.

The initiative, which is one of the company’s ways of giving back to the society, has made tremendous progress in improving the standard of the country’s education since 2016 when it started.

On Thursday, September 28, 2017, it was the turn of some schools in Kano state North-West region, after the initiative had toured most schools (both private and public) in the Southern states of Nigeria.

The campaign which is aimed at supporting young Nigerians education, arrived Yakub Memorial Secondary School, Brigade Quarters, Kano, Kano state, to the excitement of pupils, who trooped out to welcome the delegation.

At the event, Oke Umurhohwo, the Marketing Communications Manager of itel mobile, spoke glowingly of the company’s vision to improve learning among pupils across the country, adding that this “is in our (itel) promise to reach1500 pupils in 2017 and give back to the society.”

Mr Umurhohwo who lamented the lack of access to basic educational tools in the rural areas, stated that education is key and itel mobile would continue to promote Nigerian education through different initiatives in the future.

“The Education sector faces a lot of challenges in many places,” he lamented, positing that “Hence we are doing this event monthly to improve the education among the pupils and students as they will lead us in the future.”

“We understand how education is crucial to the advancement of any nation and we will do our bit to contribute to it [education] growth, seeing to it that the future leaders are given the needed help to develop.”

Speaking further, the Marketing Manager, itel mobile, Marvin Umebiye, says in line with brand promises, itel would continue to identify new ways to help the society especially the under privileged and we are very proud to be in Kano.

After a brief sensitization talk on the need for the pupils to take their education serious, itel mobile, donated learning materials to students of the school. The smiles and happiness among the pupils were visible as they received bags, books and pen from the company.

Seemingly elated at itel’s intervention, Vice Principal of the school, Ali Abdulkadir Mohammed, along with two other teachers, expressed appreciation at the education materials doled out to their pupils, saying it will ease their jobs and facilitate improved standard among students.
