Interview

It takes divine wisdom to interpret God’s revelation —Nwolicha

Pastor Sunday Luke Nwolicha is the founder of Mount Gilgal Prayer Ministry, Ologuneru, Ibadan, Oyo State. In this interview with SEYI SOKOYA, the Edo State-born missionary speaks on why there are contradictions in revelations among some clerics, among other issues.

How has life been, working for God as a missionary-turned-church founder?

It has been a great experience in God’s vineyard and I cannot thank God enough for the rare privilege and grace bestowed upon me to evangelise and propagate the gospel of Christ to all.

I am currently on a missionary mission in Ibadan, from Lagos, and by the grace of God, the Lord has used me wonderfully for people through my gift and prophetic revelations. The Lord has been wonderful and has revealed a lot to me. Many (prophetic revelations) have come to pass, many are coming to pass by the day, and just a few yet to materialize; that is why I always tag my prophecies as Prophetic revelations for the year and the years ahead.

How often do you hear from God?

I have devoted my life to be God’s servant and He has never forsaken me. He treats me like a precious child and you can always imagine what kind of relationship that would be.

God has spoken to me in many ways and has made us a channel to pass messages across to people and nations. God revealed the coming in of this administration; the exit of Jonathan, the death of Prophet TB Joshua and I didn’t hesitate to pass the messages across.

In the year 2016, the Lord told me: “I will punish Nigeria and make Nigeria a shaking of the head to people and other nations,” many did not believe, even when I told people about the end of TB Joshua, I was abused, my life was threatened, and then all eventually came to pass.

For this very year, the Lord gave me about 70 revelations, and about 50 of them already manifesting, such as the attacks on churches, marketplaces, and communities. God also revealed the second coming of Christ to me annually as a caution for all humans. The current challenges of the county were also revealed by God before the emergence of the present government, I delivered the messages, but, unfortunately, people didn’t adhere. The coronavirus pandemic, among other revelations God gave to me, was not taken seriously until reality came on us!

You are a prophet and a missionary, how have you been able to combine these two callings?

The main purpose of my coming to Ibadan is to evangelise and refresh the minds of the people about the coming. By the grace of God, the mission has transformed into a ministry. My intention was never to establish a ministry, but the people of God who have witnessed the manifestation of the power of God in numerous ways said they wanted to experience more. So, I decided to establish a ministry.

Missionary work is not pronounced in Nigeria these days, why?

There are still missionaries around us and missionary work is still effective; it is just that many people are not interested in that field. Some people are called by God, but due to circumstances, they choose to compromise, while some missed the calling of God, except for those that are focused and obedient. That is why things are happening in the kingdom today. Many of us are for our stomachs.

The missionary thing is not easy; the fear of how to survive, because even for a very long time, about four to five years ago after the Lord asked me to go to Ibadan, I was afraid because I didn’t know anybody here. The fear has been how I would survive. I came with just my handbag; started evangelism from the streets and market places, but God has established His work today.

Mixed reactions have trailed the activities of some clerics going around streets, markets places, and motor parks to beg for money. What do you have to say to this?

It is wrong for any minster to engage in such activities. It is not of the Lord; this act is purely commercial. People will not be ready to take them seriously.

Any cleric that begs for money or material things and even shows off, is not a minister of God. This act has misled many people today and God is not happy with it. Because of this deception, most men decided to compromise, to look big and great to get the people. Asking for money is bad, it is only God that rewards. Many of them are not real clerics because the Lord never said so.  It is never in the scriptures to go ask or beg; no, it is not of the Lord.

Would you say that you have achieved your mission in Ibadan?

When God sends you on a mission, He backs you up. I must confess, I came to realise that faith works in Ibadan because many of us preach faith, but lack faith. Since I came to the city, I have been seeing God, I still see God. He has been backing me up, He supports, He helps, provides. So, that is how it has been.

As a prophet how can one identify a true prophecy?

According to the scriptures, especially the book of Ezekiel, if God reveals to you and it comes to pass, that is prophecy; when revelations come to pass that is prophecy. Some revelations may not be for now but for years to come. Some may not come to pass depending on how people take the revelation seriously. Revelations are very important, it serves a caution, and above all, it is evidence that God is watching the affairs of men. It also prepares one against evil. Mind you, there are true and fake prophecies, but if we are of God we can›t be deceived by any prophet of doom.

I know God speaks to me and I am not afraid to deliver His messages accordingly. Vertically all prophecies God gave me have come to pass. During the last Lenten period, I did not pray for myself, I prayed for the country throughout, because I knew what the Lord was showing me, and I prayed that they would not come to pass. The atmosphere is still not very clear.

I am very angry at the G.Os and our leaders in the church; these people have what it takes to guard against these things, pray against what is happening to Nigeria, but some of us are very busy meeting and dining with them. If they constantly put their congregation together and pray against what is happening to this nation, there is nothing God cannot do.

It has been observed that most prophecies from Nigerian clerics are negative. Why?

The Lord said in the book of Ezekiel, “If I send you and you fail to deliver, if anything happens to that person, the sin will be upon you, and you will pay with your blood, but if I send you and you deliver, you are free, and the blood will be upon the person.” It is not always negative; it depends on how God reveals it to you. Negative revelations are there for us to prevent it. Some people even go to the extent of cursing us or abusing us for delivering the revelation of God, instead of them acting on it, asking for God’s mercy.

If God does not love us, if He has no interest in us, He will have no time for us. It is because of His love for us and His interest in us, His wish for us is not for us to perish, but to live and fulfill our purposes on earth. God loves us but we hate ourselves. We are not ready to listen. He said woe unto the person that speaks when I haven’t spoken or speaks from his imaginations. If God sends you, as long as it is the truth, you need to deliver it.

Most prophecies, even among top clerics contradict one another; why?

God may reveal the same thing to about three or four clerics, but the divine wisdom to interpret the revelation rightly or properly is another thing. May God have mercy on us, it is not supposed to be. There are many reasons for these contradictions; many of us speak out of our flesh, some may just be praying, what they are giving is not prophecy or advice. I believe that there is a difference between prediction and revelation. You can predict based on what is going on around you, but that is not from the Lord.

Revelation has to do with what God reveals to one by vision. Prophecy might be what one prophesies out of the spirit, and there are different spirits, Satan might be speaking to you, but the Holy Spirit might be communicating through you. Prediction is what I don’t like at all. If you are predicting, you make it known to people that you foresee things happening. Lying in the name of the Lord is an abomination. Many of us have gone astray in this country, God sees them, and we know them. May God have mercy on us.
