It is time to end this hardship, Nigerian celebrities tell Tinubu

In the face of Nigeria’s enduring economic turmoil and escalating living costs, a chorus of Nigerian celebrities has rallied to the side of the people, directing their collective outcry towards President Bola Tinubu, urging immediate action to alleviate the country’s dire circumstances.

Over the past nine months of his administration, citizens have found themselves entrenched in abject poverty, prompting notable figures from various entertainment spheres to amplify calls for tangible solutions.

From the influential content creator and skit maestro, Mr Macaroni, to seasoned actresses like Kate Henshaw and Hilda Dokubo, and even to figures like Laide Bakare, the rallying cry for national reform resonates across the celebrity spectrum.

With musicians and actors among those leading the charge, the demand for a better Nigeria reverberates strongly, fueled by the sobering realization that the current realities pose a severe threat to their livelihoods and creative endeavors.

Adding her voice to the growing clamor, prominent movie producer Mercy Aigbe lamented the escalating toll of the crisis, emphasising the urgency of the situation.

In her impassioned plea, she underscores the grim reality that lives are at stake, highlighting the pressing need for decisive action before the situation spirals further out of control.

Aigbe directs her plea toward President Tinubu’s son, Seyi, urging him to intercede on behalf of the suffering populace.

As the chorus of voices grows louder, it underscores the widening disconnect between the ruling elite and the populace they serve.
