It is possible to have two election in Kogi State― INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday said two elections may be conducted in Kogi State on the 16th of November.

The National Commissioner in charge of Kogi, Kwara and Nasarawa State, Mallam Haruna Muhammed disclosed this in Lokoja, Kogi state during Sensitization forums for Media executives, Bloggers on fake news in Kogi state.

He noted that with the Appeal Court judgment which nullified the election of Senator Dino Melaye and ordered for a fresh election, two elections may be conducted in November 16 Governorship election.

He stressed that the Appeal Court gave 30 days from the day of judgement for fresh election but as it is now they have 35 days for the Governorship election which means that the fresh Kogi West senatorial election and that of the Governorship election may likely take place on the 16th of November.
