Iseyin College: Provost charges new students to embrace challenges

Published by

The acting Provost of Iseyin College of Science and Health Technology, Dr Peter Ibiyosi, has called on the new students of the institution to aspire for the best in their academic pursuits, despite all the challenges they might face during the period.

He gave the charge on Thursday during the matriculation ceremony of over 700 new intakes of the institution, located along Iseyin-Oyo road.

Ibiyosi said each of the matriculant has been endowed with a unique positive history, background and aspiration which must be allowed to manifest for the benefit of society and themselves.

He assured parents of the new students of the well-being of their wards, adding that the management of the school would provide an environment that would make the learners thrive intellectually, socially and emotionally.

“To our dear students, I offer you a simple piece of advice: embrace this journey wholeheartedly, embrace the challenges, the setbacks and the moments of uncertainty, for it is through adversity that we grow and evolve, be open to new ideas, new perspectives and new experiences.

“Explore every opportunity that comes your way, whether it is joining a social club, participating in research and studying abroad, your time here is not just about acquiring knowledge, it is about discovering who you are and who you want to become.”

The acting Registrar of the institution, Mr Azeez Olawale, also called on the students to see their admission to the institution as a testament to their hard work, dedication and commitment to pursuing higher education.

He however admonished them to avoid bad companies and illegal activities like cultism and usage of hard drugs.
