Isese day: Adeleke to form interreligious advisory council for unity

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, announced on Tuesday that his administration has finalized arrangements to establish an interreligious advisory committee aimed at maintaining peace among different religions in the state.

Speaking through the State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Rasheed Aderibigbe, at the Annual Isese Day Celebration held at Freedom Park, Osogbo, the governor revealed that the committee will include representatives from Christian, Muslim, and traditional worshipper communities.

According to Aderibigbe, the committee will serve as an advisory body to the governor on religious matters in the state.

He stated, “To maintain the existing peace among the three religions, an interreligious committee will be formed, comprising representatives from each religion. This committee will collaborate to provide advice to the governor on religious issues.”

Senator Adeleke, who pledged not to disappoint the people of the state in terms of welfare and other provisions, affirmed that with their cooperation, the state’s development will be more vigorous and exceptional.

He encouraged them to monitor his administration’s ongoing projects across the state, pledging to continue adding value to the state’s advancement.

In his remarks at the event, the President of the State Traditional Religion Worshippers Association, Dr. Oluseyi Atanda, commended the governor for his fairness and integrity in dealing with the three religions in the state.
