Thanksgiving Day, observed on the fourth Thursday of November, is one of the most cherished holidays in the United States.
The holiday is marked by family reunions, traditional feasts, and expressions of gratitude, underscoring its deep cultural and historical significance. This year, Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, 28 November 2024.
While many Americans spend the day enjoying festive meals, attending church services, or watching sports, some may find themselves needing to make last-minute grocery purchases. In such situations, knowing which stores remain open can be invaluable.
However, Walmart, the renowned American multinational retail corporation, will not open on Thanksgiving Day.

According to a company spokesperson, Walmart stores will close at 11 p.m. on Wednesday, 27 November 2024 and will not reopen until 6 a.m. on Friday, 29 November 2024 local time.
This decision reflects a growing trend among retailers to remain closed on Thanksgiving, enabling employees to spend the holiday with their families.
John Furner, Walmart’s U.S. President and CEO, has previously stated that the company being open on Thanksgiving is “a thing of the past.”
