Iranian attacks: We’re ready for any scenario — Netanyahu

Published by

Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday, said Israel is ready for any scenario, stating that the nation is strong both defensively and offensively, in light of Iran’s increasing hostility towards the nation.

He said, “Citizens of Israel, in recent years, and especially in recent weeks, Israel has been preparing for a direct attack by Iran.

“Our defensive systems are deployed; we are ready for any scenario, both defensively and offensively. The State of Israel is strong. The IDF is strong. The public is strong.

“We appreciate the US standing alongside Israel, as well as the support of Britain, France and many other countries.”

“We have determined a clear principle: Whoever harms us, we will harm them. We will defend ourselves against any threat and will do so level-headedly and with determination.

“Citizens of Israel, I know that you also are also level-headed. I call on you to follow the directives of IDF Home Front Command. Together we will stand and with G-d’s help – together we will overcome all of our enemies.”

Iran had earlier launched aerial drones at Israel, appearing to mark a widely anticipated reprisal attack.

Iran had vowed to retaliate for an attack on its consulate in Syria on 1 April which killed seven military officers, including a top commander.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said they had launched missiles at Israel as well as drones.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said they were on high alert and “monitoring all targets”.

Israel, Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq have closed their airspaces, and Syria and Jordan have put their air defences on alert.

It accused Israel of carrying out that attack. Israel neither confirmed nor denied it.
