THE new Commissioner of Police in Ebonyi state CP Musa Kimo has warned parents and guidance to educated their wards on the implication of harassing , intimidating and molesting the law abiding citizens in the state and called on the citizens to disregard the sit at home order planed by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and go ahead with their lawful businesses.

The commissioner stated these in his office at the state command headquarter Abakaliki during his inaugural meeting with journalists.

According to the commissioner who says he is going to strategise and employ community policy, inter-agency co-operation, visibility quality, massive deployment, intelligent gathering , stop and search, and raze on identified criminal hideout, to protect the lives of every citizen of the state, opposed the insinuation that he was sent to work for the ruling party APC in the state.

He then urged Ebonyians to hold police on trust, promising that the police will be responsible, responsive to actualize their potentiality inline with international practices.

“Let me use this opportunity to warn unscrupulous element, hoodlums and the people who do not choose to be law-abiding. people that are penchant for inflicting pains on the law-abiding citizens to have a rethink because the police in conjunction with other security agencies would not fold their arms.

“For instance the information reaching us that IPOB has concluded plans to harass, intimidate, molest law abiding citizens I want to assure all lawful abiding citizens and other people here to do their legitimate business that they have nothing to fear as urgent security measures are in place to guarantee everybody’s movement.

“We have been directed to be professional in our approach and I assured the public that we will be apolitical before, during the election and after the election.

“We are here as servants to do our jobs and operate within international best practices, so the people have nothing to fear,”
“I also want to appeal to parents and guardian to warn their wards to desist otherwise if they come out they will surely meet what they want.”

“He urged people not fear as they are here to do their job and operate with international best practices.

“Any police personnel that chooses to do otherwise, is on his or her own. We will be professional, we will operate in the rule of law. In fact, we will always be conscious, polite and civil in our dealings with all the law-abiding citizens within the state. It is the duty of Police to serve everybody.”

“Anybody who does not play by the rules of the game, we will certainly do our job we are apolitical so I advise people to respect the rule of the land because anything that is contrary the police agency will do that work.”

He, however, called on the general public to dismiss the insinuation that he was plotted in Ebonyi against 2015 general election as he promised to be apolitical and professional in discharging his duties in the state.
