Some members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), have lauded the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu, for his quick intervention and resolution of internal conflict that rocked the association for years.
Speaking with the Nigerian Tribune on the issue, a member of IPMAN who also is the Chairman of Obasi Vanguard, South Western Zone, Dr Kolawole Adewoyin, thanked Kachikwu for his efforts at restoring peace into the association and urged other IPMAN members to support the Federal Government’s aspiration to ensure products availability to all Nigerians at all times.
Dr Adewoyin also congratulated the Chairman, Board of Trustees, IPMAN, Alhaji Aminu Abdul Kadir, and other BOT members including Mr Tunji Adeniji, on their new appointment as BOT members.
He, however, called on the new president of IPMAN, Chief Lawson Obasi and the entire members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) to carry all stakeholders and members of the association along. He said this will go a long way in uniting the association.
“I want to congratulate Chief Lawson Obasi for his new role as the IPMAN President. I will like to advise him to carry all members along irrespective of location or region. I want him and his team to continue to support the Federal Government’s aspiration to ensure availability of products at all times to all Nigerians.”
He also called on the IPMAN president to liase with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in ensuring that the issues of outstanding members’ tickets are addressed.
“I want to plead with my president to liase with the NNPC to ensure that all pending tickets at various depots are looked into as a matter of urgency. Our members have paid for products since December 2015 and are yet to load products. You should work with the NNPC to clear the backlogs of tickets nationwide and also work with the government to ensure that all NNPC depots become functional so that we don’t continue to suffer in the hands of private depot owners,” he said.
