Nigerian investors living in the diaspora have hailed a real estate agency, Pelican Estate Nigerian Limited for its transparency and credibility.
They gave this vote of confidence during the “Iftar” (breaking of Muslim fast) which Pelican CEO, Dr Babatunde Adeyemo hosted for Muslims within the country and in diaspora.
One of the investors, Mr Adewale Obadina, who is based in Ireland, disclosed that the agency helped his actualise his dream home without unnecessary stress.
Obadina noted that his present dealings with Pelican are more transparent unlike that of other estate agents including who duped him in the past.
“The story changed positively. I am proud to do business with the estate and I would not hesitate to do more,” he said.
Another US-based investors, Mr and Mrs Payne, lauded the agency for electrifying the estates under its management in the Abeokuta metropolis.
They noted their over nine years relationship with the agency have been guided by global standards and business ethics.
“This is the second time we are meeting him. I’m very surprised about the development, it is not just buying the land alone, he would tell you the five years plans and he also has concerns about his clients,” the said.
Adeyemo, who is also the chief promoter of Pelican Brief Estate, Pelican Ecostay Apartments and Pelican Greenish Acres Farm Estate, revealed how the firm’s revenue grew by 50%, leading to an increase in staff salaries and welfare as “we have factored in overtime allowance, outfit allowance. We also give all our staff daily feeding stipends.”
He also disclosed that the idea behind Pelican Estates is to build a sort of interconnectivity, interdependency and self–sustaining community among the Pelican estates.
“We want to take full advantage of the hospitality business in our estate and the strategy is to grow what we eat as fresh as possible and also create value-added products for export, taking full advantage of the new Ogun State Agro-Cargo Airport which is just in our neighbourhood.
“We have perfected our plans by delivering our estates on the Ogun State Masterplan, through the government approved layouts we have secured on all the estates.
“The implication of this is that our estates and farms are already on the state masterplan and would not be affected by any present or future lands acquisition by the present or succeeding government in the state,” he said.
