Agara, who told newsmen in Lafia that the move is aimed at developing sport in Nigeria’s academic curriculum of education establishment in order to stir up interest of sport among the youths.
“A lot of our youths still don’t know much about the sport. So our plan is to introduce it in secondary schools and tertiary institutions so as to inform them about karate. Hopefully, after that, some will show interest and embrace it as their favourite sport.

“If that is done, Nigeria will be the biggest beneficiary as we will have more youths interested in the sport. Some of those who show interest will join others already in the sport to represent the country in karate competitions in Africa and across the globe,” He stated.
Agara added that another reason for the federation’s readiness to introduce karate in the academic curriculum of the nation’s secondary and Tertiary institutions is to develop the culture of self-defense and combatism in the younger generation especially for those desiring to make a career in the Army, police and other para-military organizations.
He further assured of the federation’s preparedness to feature prominently in the upcoming National Sports Festival and other international sports fiestas such as the All African games and the Olympics among others.
