INTERSWITCH Group, a prominent integrated payments and digital commerce company in Africa, has been announced as the key sponsor of the Committee of e-Business Industry Heads (CeBIH) 2024 Conference.

The event, scheduled to take place on December 4–5, 2024, at the Eko Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, will focus on the theme, “Payment System Vision 2030: Navigating Contemporary Issues in Driving Future Growth.”

CeBIH comprises senior electronic business practitioners from all Nigerian banks, united by the goal of promoting electronic banking services aligned with global best practices. The 2024 conference is poised to advance the objectives of Payment System Vision (PSV) 2030 by reviewing progress, celebrating milestones, and addressing emerging challenges in Nigeria’s payments ecosystem.

PSV 2030, developed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), is a strategic framework aimed at steering the evolution of the nation’s payment systems over the next decade. Building on the achievements of Payment System Vision 2020, this initiative focuses on deepening financial inclusion, fostering payment innovation, and supporting Nigeria’s digital economy.

Mitchell Elegbe, Founder and Group Managing Director of Interswitch, is set to deliver the keynote address, “The Impact of Globalization and the Gig Economy on Inclusive Payment Systems in Nigeria.” Ahead of the event, he remarked:

“We are proud to support CeBIH and its 2024 annual conference, as it aligns with our vision of creating seamless, secure, and future-ready payment systems for Africa. This partnership underscores Interswitch’s commitment to driving innovation and advancing the payments ecosystem. Together, we aim to tackle the evolving challenges in digital payments while contributing to a robust, inclusive, and sustainable digital economy across Africa.”

The conference will delve into the critical role of technology and innovation in advancing financial inclusion and will foster collaboration between financial institutions, fintech companies, and regulators. Additionally, it aims to generate actionable policy recommendations to enhance Nigeria’s payment ecosystem.

This year’s event will gather thought leaders, industry experts, and policymakers to shape strategies for the future of payments in Nigeria and beyond. The program will feature engaging keynote addresses, expert panel discussions, and interactive sessions designed to inspire innovation and drive meaningful outcomes.

By sponsoring the 2024 CeBIH annual conference, Interswitch reinforces its dedication to shaping the future of payments in Nigeria. This sponsorship highlights the company’s role as a catalyst for digital financial inclusion, fostering stakeholder collaboration and promoting the sustainability of Nigeria’s payment ecosystem.

As Nigeria progresses toward the goals of PSV 2030, Interswitch continues to play a pivotal role in the financial ecosystem. By collaborating with industry leaders, the company remains at the forefront of efforts to ensure that Africa’s payment systems adapt to the dynamic needs of its people. Interswitch remains committed to driving a seamless, secure, and inclusive digital economy for Nigeria and the continent at large.
