Interim Govt: Stop drumming war of disintegration, Bishop warns agitators

Few weeks before the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected president of the Country, Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the Osun State Diocesan Bishop of Ijesa North Anglican Diocese, Rt Rev’d (Dr.) Isaac I. Oluyamo has warned against agitation for the imposition of the interim government on the Nigerian citizens by some politicians in the country
The clergyman dropped the warning during his 60th Birthday Anniversary and Thanksgiving service held on Tuesday at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Okeluse, Ondo State.
Reverend Oluyamo who advised those behind the act to desist from such and stop drumming the war of disintegration in the country, reminded them to always bear in mind, the consequences of their anti-democratic act before embarking on an inhuman acts.
He, however charged them to let harmony and peace be their watchwords and shun any act that could lead to segregation, tribalism, segregation, and nepotism among Nigerians.
Speaking on the spate of kidnappings that has wreaked a lot of havoc in the country, frowned at the situation. He described it as worrisome and alarming and called on the appropriate authorities to act fast by providing its citizens with adequate security that would safely guide them, their territories and properties before it goes out of hand
While commending Ondo state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, for the role played in upholding security and peace of the State, he charged him to sustain the tempo and ensure that, more security posts and Army checking points are put in place across the state, most especially the road leading to Okeluse and its environment.
The Clergyman also thanked the Bishop of Owo Diocese, The Rt. Rev’d Dr. Stephen Ayodeji Fagbemi for his visit to the Fulani Herdsmen’s massacre victims in the Okeluse community.
Bishop Oluyamo, who congratulated Hon. Timilehin Adelegbe for his victory during the just concluded national election, appealed to the Federal Government to complete the bridge that links Okeluse to Ogbese in Edo State.
