Published by

THE newly-elected Council Chairman of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti States branch, Mr Samuel Kolawole, has said that the interest of members would be his priority as he chairs the association for the next four years.

Kolawole, while speaking shortly after his election during the Annual General Meeting of the association which was held at Kakanfo Inn, Ibadan, on Thursday noted that the present executive will do all within its reach to ensure that interest of members is protected at all time.

He stated that putting the interest of members above every other thing will definitely strengthen the association to blossom. He added that the branch will not do this in isolation as it will relate well with sister branches to achieve this.

Kolawole, who is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, University Press Plc, said that part of protecting members interest is to cause the government to always create an enabling environment for members businesses to thrive.

He, however, called for more commitments from members in order to make the branch an envy for others.

The immediate past branch chairman, Mr Kola Akosile, while addressing the gathering stated that over the years, MAN has continued to consolidate on its enviable track records by strengthening ties with relevant government ministries, department and agencies in an effort targeted at fostering a better business environment particularly for the benefits of all members of the branch.

“I am delighted to hand over a financially vibrant branch with an increased membership of 119 member-companies and reserves of N73,669, 930.52, compared to 99 member-companies and N52, 078, 207 when I assumed leadership four years ago.

“Our asset base also rose from N61 million to N143 million in 2018. I want to thank everyone for their support at various times in different capacities and levels to make this journey a success.” He concluded.
