Think Canada Fair, an educational platform recently unveiled its latest endeavour: a national essay competition tailored for senior high school and sixth-form college students spanning Nigeria and Ghana.
This initiative serves as a platform for burgeoning intellects to influence the trajectory of education while showcasing their innovative approaches to contemporary challenges. Entrants have the opportunity to vie for prizes totalling up to $1,500, alongside scholarships and other enticing rewards.
The 2024 Essay Competition beckons final-year and penultimate high school students, sixth-form college students, and recent graduates (Graduation Year 2023) to participate. Under the theme, “Future Trends in Education Industry: Challenges and Opportunities for Sustainability,” participants are encouraged to delve into pivotal topics such as the intersection of technology with education and art, sustainability, corporate responsibility, and strategies to bolster students’ mental health and well-being.
In acknowledgement of outstanding contributions, commendable prizes await the top three essays. The first-place winner stands to claim a $1,500 cash prize, while the second-place and third-place winners are eligible for scholarships of $1,000 and $500, respectively. Additionally, the educational institutions of the laureates will be duly recognized with prizes.
“We believe that Canada’s diversity is its greatest strength,” remarked Eunice Baba, Event Coordinator of Think Canada Fair. “This essay competition offers a platform for students to articulate how multiculturalism shapes our national identity and to actively contribute to the ongoing discourse about our country’s future.”
Highlighting the registration process, Eunice noted, “Essays must be submitted through the Think Canada Fair website by August 19, 2024. Entries should not exceed 1,000 words and will be evaluated by a distinguished panel of educators, writers, and community leaders based on originality, coherence, adherence to the theme, and overall writing quality.”
Think Canada Fair, Africa’s premier educational fair promoting Canadian education, has been at the forefront since 2014. It hosts educational expos in key cities across Nigeria and Ghana, providing a platform for Canadian high schools, colleges, and universities to engage with students and parents aspiring to pursue higher education opportunities in Canada.
