Insecurity: We’re optimistic of improved security — Acting IGP

The Acting Inspector-General of Police, Ag. IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun has reassured the members of the general public that the general security of lives and property in the country would be improved in all ramifications under his watch.

This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Sunday by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

According to the statement, “the IGP reiterated the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force, under his watch, to attain its primacy in the internal security architecture of Nigeria”.

The statement added that in furtherance of his vision and painstaking drive to achieve his goals, the Acting Inspector-General of Police would be meeting with Commanders of the 79 Police Mobile Force, PMF Squadron on Monday in Abuja.

It explained that the meeting would afford the IGP the opportunity “to upskill them on new operational strategies for improved training, deployments, and enhanced tactical engagements for better public safety and general security for all and sundry”.

The statement further added that the Ag. Inspector-General of Police assured that the present leadership of the force had outlined an array of policing approaches that would be of immense importance to general public safety in Nigeria.
