Insecurity: FG to launch theatre command in North-west — Defence Minister

Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, announced that preparations are underway to launch a theatre command named ‘Operation Fansan Yamma’ in the North West. This initiative aims to address the challenges of banditry, kidnapping, and cattle rustling in the region.

During his official visit to the North-West Zone, the Minister emphasised the establishment of a Command and Control Centre as a crucial step in addressing the issue of banditry.

He also highlighted the government’s collaborative efforts with neighboring countries, particularly Niger Republic, to combat terrorism and arms trafficking.

Governor Uba Sani stressed the importance of regional collaboration to tackle insecurity, calling for the establishment of a Command and Control Centre to coordinate joint efforts against criminal elements in the region.

He expressed gratitude for the Federal Government’s commitment to addressing the multidimensional challenges of insecurity confronting the North-West Zone.
