Insecurity: Community partnership my priority, says new Ekiti CP

In a bid to curtail crimes and criminalities, the new Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, Moronkeji Adesina has promised to collaborate with the locals and communities across the 16 local government areas of the state to achieve desired results.

Adesina who replaced Tunde Mobayo, who just retired from the force as commissioner of police stated that the command under his command would work with other sister security agencies to combat the waves of kidnapping and other heinous crimes in the state.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Sunday Abutu in a statement on Tuesday, the new CP spoke when he resumed at the command’s headquarters along Iyin-Ekiti road, Ado-Ekiti.

He advised residents to support the police with relevant and timely information and cooperation, which he explained would help in achieving effective community policing to end crimes in the state.

The PPRO in the statement said, “the new Commissioner of Police states that community partnership and respect for human rights will be his guiding philosophy.

“The Commissioner promises to partner with the military, paramilitary, intelligence agencies and communities to enhance knowledge, deepen mutual understanding and develop a tight security architecture in the State.

“He, therefore, appeals to members of the public to give maximum cooperation to the Police as the Command under his watch is determined to partner with the community in pursuing a more vigorous and effective community policing.”

Abutu added that before he was posted to Ekiti, CP Adesina from Ogun state, “was once a Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, Zone 11, Osogbo, Osun State and served as the Commissioner of Police, General Investigation, Force CID, Force Headquarters, Abuja before his deployment to Ekiti State.”
