Information commissioners agree to domesticate national value reorientation campaign

The Progressives Forum of Commissioners for Information in APC-governed states has adopted the National Value Reorientation campaign to uplift the moral and civic behavior of citizens across the states.

In a communiqué released after the PGF Quarterly Strategy Meeting on Saturday, and made available by the Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, the forum explained that the campaign would, in no small measure, help to build public trust and revive the spirit of patriotism among the people.

The communiqué was signed by Gbenga Omotoso (Lagos), Kayode Akinmade (Ogun), Sagir Musa Ahmed (Jigawa), Ibraheem Musa (CPS, Kaduna), Kingsley Femi Fanwo (Kogi), Erasmus Ekpang (Cross River), Taiwo Olatunbosun (Ekiti), Binta Mamman (Niger), Ibrahim Tanko (Nasarawa), Sambo Bello Danchadi (Sokoto), Paul Ohonbamu (Edo), Yusuf Ali (SSA Digital, Yobe), and Folorunso Aluko (Director General, PGF).

They commended President Bola Tinubu for his economic decisions and policies, “which are already yielding positive results and laying the needed foundations for national development.”

The communiqué reads:
“The meeting also applauded Nigerians for their resilience, patience, and unwavering support as the nation begins to witness the positive outcomes of the bold economic reforms.

“The Honourable Commissioners pledged their unalloyed loyalty to the Progressive Governors and affirmed their dedication to promoting transparency, accountability, and performance-based governance. They also committed to continually engaging citizens, countering harmful narratives, and celebrating the progress being made under the APC across Nigeria.

“The meeting adopted the PGF National Value Reorientation Campaign as a transformative agenda to recalibrate the moral, social, and civic ethos of Nigerians. The Commissioners resolved to domesticate and drive the campaign across states by leveraging strategic messaging, inter-state collaboration, and grassroots engagement. The campaign is positioned to rebuild public trust, revive patriotic consciousness, and entrench responsible citizenship as a developmental asset.

“The Commissioners emphasized the need for continuous capacity building, inter-state collaboration, and the institutionalization of a quarterly APC States Communication Strategy Review Forum under the coordination of the PGF Secretariat.”
