Inter Party Advisory Council
The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), has assured residents of Anambra that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), will conduct free, fair and credible elections, as the state prepares for the governorship poll slated for November 6, 2021.
Dr Lonard Nzenwa, National Chairman of IPAC, disclosed this in Awka, over the weekend, during a stakeholder meeting/a two-day working visit to the state to assess the level of preparedness of his party, the African Action Congress (AAC), for the election.
Nzenwa, who is also the National Chairman of AAC, said efforts were in top gear through the collaboration of INEC, IPAC, Security Agencies, Election Observers, Civil Society Organisation and other relevant stakeholders to ensure a transparent process.
He said the measure deployed in the peaceful conduct of the 2020 Edo and Ondo states guber election will be replicate same in Anambra state.
“I want to assure the people of Anambra state, especially, AAC supporters, that just like Edo and Ondo, their votes will count; INEC has told me in confidence, as the leader of all the political parties in Nigeria during our last meeting at the Commission Headquarters Abuja, that votes of the people in Anambra state will count. Our responsibility is to ensure that we assist INEC in protecting the integrity of the Nigerian electorate process and also to ensure that all political parties are treated equally.
“So, I am assuring Ndi-Anambra eligible voters that the election will be conducted in a free, fair and credible manner.
He also assures his party members that the candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Dr Dozie Nwankwo, under his leadership remains the best person to take over power from governor Willie Obiano, come March 17, 2022.
He commended the INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu and the National Assembly on the speed passaged of the Electorate Transmission of Election Result into law.
In his speech during the meeting, the AAC candidate, Dr Dozie Nwankwo, promised to Industrialized the state to International standard, established Industrial Parks across the 21 local government areas in the state and will put to an end the erosion menace confronting the state, if allowed to govern the state.
Director-General, Dr Dozie Nwankwo Campaign Organisation, Bishop Ejike Nwachukwu, on his part, said AAC we resist any attempt by any political party, be it in Federal or State, to rig the election, noting that out of the 2, 525, 471 qualified Anambra voters, AAC at the moment have six hundred and ninety thousand (690,000), voters card-carrying members for the election.
