INEC gives update on CVR

The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC)  has released the list of total number of eligible voters who have since participated in the  ongoing Continuous  Voters Registration.

In a statement made available to newsmen Thursday night by Rotimi Oyekanmi, Chief Press Secretary to INEC chairman, Professor Mahmoud Yakubu  about 1, 810, 153( one million, eight hundred and ten thousands, one hundred and fifty three Nigerians have since participated in the exercise since it was unveiled last April.

Lagos topped the list with 109,040 followed by Rivers with 103, 919, while Anambra trailed Rivers with 80, 349.

The statement   also revealed that about 65,001 have collected their Permanent Voters cards with Lagos also leading with 9,982 eligible voters with PVC.

The statement also revealed that about 8 Resident Electoral Commissioners who have since been cleared by the Senate will take their oath of office, on Friday at the Commission national  secretariat in Abuja.
