INEC declares Faleke winner of Ikeja Reps’ seat

ALL Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for House of House of Representatives seat for Ikeja Federal Constituency 2, Lagos State, Hon. James Faleke has been declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Prof. Olafumilayo Bameke, the returning officer for the election, made this announcement early Monday, saying Faleke polled 25,195 votes to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Kunle Okunola, who scored 21, 373 votes.

According to Bameke, the total number of votes cast was 51,163, while the number of registered voters in the constituency was 312,129, adding that 51,960 voters were accredited.

Meanwhile, the PDP candidate, Kunle Okunola and his agents have kicked against the result announced by INEC.

They alleged irregularities in several polling units calling for the cancellation of the result of the election.

Faleke is currently representing the constituency in the Lower Chamber at the National Assembly.
