India suspends visa services for Canadian citizens amid diplomatic row

Published by

India has suspended visa services for Canadian citizens, the country’s visa service provider, BLS International, said on Thursday on its website.

BLS International earlier announced the suspension citing “operational reasons”, adding their office will remain shut “till further notice”.

India’s foreign ministry spokesperson did not respond to queries about the matter.

The company cited a notice from the Indian mission.

The announcement comes amid a diplomatic tussle between the two countries, where Ottawa accused New Delhi of involvement in the killing of a Sikh leader in Canada.
