Inauguration: Buhari should work with govs to tackle insecurity, unemployment ― NCPC

Published by

THE Executive Secretary of Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Reverend Tor Uja has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to work closely with state governors and traditional rulers in order to tackle insecurity, unemployment and other social vices facing the country.

Reverend Uja who stated this at the end of Presidential inauguration, also urged the President to invest heavily on infrastructure, agriculture, rural development and also include the ordinary people in governance.

“I like the simplicity of the occasion, and the kind of imports I think it carries, I think this time around, Mr President has set out to include the ordinary people, the grassroots in his development agenda and to strengthen their work towards the progressive buildup of the country.

“I will like Mr President to unfold his agenda more, work more closely with the governors and then strengthen the regional groups, work closely with the regional groups, the traditional rulers, the community leaders in tackling insecurity, unemployment, and improving agriculture.

“So doing that in groups with the inclusion of all the ordinary people, greater steps will be taken. The first tenure was fairly good, and I think working with the people now will get people more involved and everybody will experience the dividend of democracy,” Reverend Uja said.

Furthermore, he said “I will like a heavier investment in key areas, there was an investment in many areas, in many of them, I don’t think the investment was heavy enough, and little investment does not guarantee the speedy and wide-ranging result.

“So I will like that Mr President should invest more heavily in infrastructure, heavily in rural development, more heavily in agriculture, let there be more heavy investment wherever we are investing.”
