Imo State people cannot afford to incubate crimes because of insecurity — Police CP

The Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Abutu Yaro, has stated that Imo people cannot, irrespective of the current insecurity, afford to incubate crimes for whatever reason.

Yaro stated this weekend during a media pally with journalists in the state at the Police Command Officers Mess, Owerri.

The Police boss said that Imo State does not require unbridled violence considering her intellectual and religious developmental position.

He said that Imo of all the states in the Federation in terms of human development stands higher, adding that the state is significant and therefore needed absolute peace to thrive.

The CP said that Imo State recorded the highest inflow of foreign funds in the Western Union rating coupled with the higher number of hotels booming which placed her as a hospitable state.

The Commissioner of Police added that in the assessment of the state by quantity surveyor, the value of houses in one local government area like Njaba is higher than some states in the country.

He said: “by quantity survey, the value of houses in Njaba LGA is higher than some ststes”.

The CP regretted that the Sam Mbakwe International Airport had gone down in terms of patronage by customers due to insecurity in the land.

While he vowed to protect the citizens of the state, CP Yaro called for opening of business in all parts of the state.

He said: “the economy of the state encourages hospitality and therefore cannot close up. So people should start coming out for their daily business to enjoy the normal Imo SWAG.” 

The CP expressed regret over the loss of three police officers at Awomama in Oru West Local Government Area of the state due to insecurity.
