The Imo State Police Command has launched a manhunt for those who attacked the Attah High/Magistrates’ Court in Njaba Local Government Area of the state.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Abutu Yaro, disclosed this on Saturday evening through the command’s Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana.
He said that the command received a distress call that some hoodlums mobilised in large number, stormed the premises of the High/Magistrates’ Court and set it on fire.
According to him, the arsonists also damaged a building that was under construction by the community, which was intended to be used as police station in Attah.
The CP said that upon the receipt of the complaint, Police Special Forces were deployed to the scene.
The Commissioner of Police has also ordered investigation into the incident and directed that no stone should be left unturned until the perpetrators of were apprehended.
