As Imo State prepare for the governorship election this year, elders from the Orlu zone have thrown their weight behind the candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Hon Uche Ben Odunzeh.
This move has threatened the reelection bid of the incumbent governor Hope Uzodinmma who is also from the Orlu zone.
This is contained in a statement, Sunday, signed by Odunzeh’s media officer, Joshua Elekwachi.
The statement said the Elders vowed to ensure victory for the NNPP Governorship Candidate describing him as spotless and the best bet to preside over affairs of the state.
“With what looks like the Orlu zone as the deciding zone yet the battleground for the election, Hon. Uche Ben Odunzeh looks favoured by the dynamics because he has no baggage or mess traced to him.
“A new breed that is coming to offer hope to his people. A young man who through dint of hard work built chains of businesses that have impacted lives both home and abroad.
“A young chap with an enterprising spirit that from zero balance sheet was able to create an avalanche of ventures that have directly employed over five thousand youths.
“Little wonder, Hon. Uche Odunzeh is loved and admired by his people. He understands the challenges and has the solutions at his fingertips.
“Highly decorated in wisdom and meekness. He is the torch bearer and the man for a new Imo.
“Orlu Zone will vote for Uche Ben Odunzeh and it is crystal clear he will win roundly in the zone,” the statement noted.
