Published by

Barely five days after the off-cycle governorship election in Imo, the Vice Chairman of the Niger Delta Region of Traditional Rulers Council and Pro chancellor of Imo State College of Education, Ihitte/Uboma, HRH Eze Oliver Ohanwe has advised Governor Hope Uzodinma to accord more attention to job creation, security of lives and properties and intensified promotion of the welfare of the people.

He advised him to be magnanimous in his victory by reaching out to his colleagues governors in the South East region for greater transformation of the zone.

The Monarch equally advised governorship candidates who lost their deposit at the poll to exhibit the spirit of sportsmanship and to wait for an appointed time since God’s time is the best

Speaking to newsmen at his residence in Owerri on Thursday, Eze Ohanwe recalled his earlier prediction of the re-election of Governor Hope Uzodimma by the electorate consequent upon the governor’s impressed performance in the last three and half years.

The Monarch who is the traditional ruler of Ihim Autonomous Community in the Isiala Mbano council areas as well as 1st Vice Chairman of the South East Christian Traditional Rulers Council said that the hitch free off-cycle election held in the 27 council areas of the state and the subsequent victory of governor Uzodimma in the poll was an eloquent testimony of the acceptability of the governor to the electorate.

He noted that the massive provision of infrastructures, quality roads construction and capacity investment in the state endeared the governor to the electorate who in appreciation of this voted en-masse  for him.

He said: “After Chief Sam Mbakwe, Governor Uzodimma has been the only Governor to touch the lives of the people in all the 27 LGAs of the state and those who contested with him were surprised that there local government areas even voted massively for him and all Imo people are happy with him and i have no doubt that he will do more in the next four 4 years”.

Eze Ohanwe who gave kudos to the Governor for his initiatives to dredge the Urashi River into a sea port disclosed that the Elders Council had advised him to extend his olive branch to his opponents since election is not for individuals  but for the masses
