Immigration boss vows to crush terrorists in Sokoto

The acting Comptroller General of Immigration, CG Caroline Wuraola Adepoju, has expressed her readiness to ensure bandits terrorising Sokoto are crushed.

The acting Comptroller General stated this in Sokoto on Tuesday while condoling families of some members of her personnel who lost their lives recently while exchanging gunshots with bandits along Illela road a few weeks ago.

She said the NIS is ready to collaborate with other sister security agencies including the Nigerian Army and the Police in taking the fight to the bandits in their hideout.

“I am annoyed that two of my men were killed by these bandits and I am not ready to fold my hands and watch them

“Those people were enemies of this country by always disturbing the piece we enjoyed and we won’t take it easy with them anymore.

“I am going to work with the Army and other security agencies to ensure we deal with these bandits who disturb the peace of the country.”

Earlier while addressing the  Sokoto State governor, Ahmed Aliyu, during a courtesy visit to his office, the acting CG commend the governor for his cooperation with security agents in the State.

She however solicit the support of the governor in terms of logistics such as donation of patrol vehicles to the command to make his officers access more hideouts in the state.

She also call on the residents of the state to collaborate with security agents by giving intelligence, “it will help us in achieving our set goals,” she added.

The Comptroller General as part of his schedule also visited the injured officers of the command who were receiving treatment at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital Sokoto where she assured them that NIS will ensure they receive maximum treatment.
