Imade will grow up to see I fought for her – Davido

Nigerian artist and producer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, expressed his commitment to his daughter, saying, Imade would grow up knowing he loves her.

In a recent Instagram post on July 5, 2024, addressing the ongoing custody battle with his first babymama, Sophia Momodu, Davido reaffirmed his love for Imade and his determination to be present in her life.

In the post, Davido responded to Sophia’s allegations and stated that Imade would grow up knowing that he loves her as a father.

He criticized Sophia for bringing up sensitive topics, including the tragic loss of their son Ifeanyi, during their legal disputes.

The custody battle escalated when Davido filed for joint custody, accusing Sophia of denying him access to Imade and extorting money from him. He recounted their past relationship, which ended several years ago, and expressed disappointment that their agreement to co-parent had not been upheld.

Sophia, in response, refuted Davido’s claims and clarified that she had an affair with him from 2020 to 2022 while he was dating Chioma. She denied obstructing his access to Imade and accused Davido of neglecting their daughter after she refused his advances.

In her affidavit opposing joint custody, Sophia cited Davido’s controversial lifestyle and his use of their daughter to settle personal scores as reasons for her stance. Davido, reacting on social media, criticized Sophia’s tactics and emphasized his daughter’s future awareness of the custody battle.

Despite the ongoing legal battle, Davido assured Imade of his unwavering love and support, stating that Sophia could have temporary custody for now but reminding her that Imade would one day understand the efforts he made on her behalf.

Davido wrote, ” You’re constantly bringing up the death of my child at any point you can just to remind us of this tragedy that haunts us every day of our lives. Imade will grow up to see I fought for her. As for now, you can have her.

P.S. She won’t be a child forever. Enjoy. I made Aurora Adeleke! Your father loves you.”
