I’m a small town girl with big God, says Omoni Oboli

The last few weeks may have been rough for Nollywood actor and producer, Omoni Oboli, but the mother of three is all smiles now, following the successful premiere of her new movie, The Okafor’s Law. The premiere, which was earlier slated for for March 25 was stopped a court injunction.

The multiple-award winning actress was accused of copyright theft by a Canadian-based Nigerian scriptwriter, who claimed that Oboli stole the script of the movie. But Oboli, who has just started shooting the movie at that time, rubbished the claim.

Weeks back, Oboli broke down in tears when she was about to premiere the movie, as she was served a court injunction that restricted her from going ahead with the premiere. The day did not end well for Oboli, but she promised to be back stronger.

On Monday, Federal High Court lifted the injunction, as she premiered the much-talked about movie, which featured Toyin Aimahku now Toyin Abraham, Ufuoma Mcdermott, Halima Abubakar, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Gabriel Afolayan,  among others.

R gathered that the movie, which is now showing in all cinemas nationwide, sold out in its first week in Lagos, Benin, Asaba, and will be premiered more states in the coming weeks.

According to Oboli, “I bow in awe of my King because He’s in my business. Thank you Lord for making all things beautiful. I am just a small town girl with a very big God. I will love you forever my King. I will sing of your name, my redeemer.”
