Rema, a Nigerian singer, has sparked a debate in the music industry by claiming he is on the same level as Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy, widely regarded as the “Big 3” of Afrobeats.
In his new song “Hehehe”, he sings about the “Big 3” becoming a “Big 4,” implying he has joined their ranks.
Despite backlash, Rema insists it’s an insult to suggest he doesn’t deserve to be included alongside these megastars.
He sings: “No more big 3, there’s now a big 4. People go para but what for? Dem go say I don’t deserve it but that is an insult.”
This bold claim has sparked a conversation about his credentials and whether he has indeed achieved the same level of success as the “Big 3”.
