I’m not too young to contest – Ogun senatorial candidate

A Senatorial Aspirant during the last general elections, under the umbrella of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Ogun West Senatorial District, Hon. Damilare Abioro, has said that insinuations in some quarters that he is too young to eye such position, amounts to a joke taken too far.

The aspirant who was persuaded to step down for a party chieftain, John Aina, during the NNPP primaries, insisted that he remains the candidate to beat if he had been allowed to vie for the party’s ticket.

Abioro, who made this known on Wednesday while addressing party faithfuls and supporters in his country home in Agosasa, Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State, said he was better prepared for the position if he had cliched the ticket.

The former Senatorial Aspirant, who is the son of late PA Abioro Hodonu of Ago-Egun, Agosasa explained that his decision to step down for another aspirant was borne out of his respect for the party’s supremacy.

The young politician added that he has all it takes to rival the current Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial district, Adeola Olamilekan, popularly known as Yayi, being a grassroots politician who is well known in the region and is yearning to bring transformation to Ogun West.

According to him, the insinuations in some quarters that he is too young to eye such position, amounts to a joke too far, having consulted major stakeholders including the NNPP presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, amongst others.

Abioro listed his agenda to include promoting and bringing modern development to the senatorial district; developing education sector through facilitation of higher institutions from both the government and private institutions; resusticating tongeji island, among others
