Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan
FORMER Governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan has promised to see to a legislation that will legalise illegal refineries in the Niger Delta if elected to represent Delta South Senatorial District at the Red Chambers come 2019.
This is just as the Itsekiri-born medical doctor disclosed that he led the government that ensured the failure of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in elections in the past, but having joined the fold, now ready to work for the success of the party ahead of the 2019 general elections.
The former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, on which ticket he enjoyed two terms as governor, said henceforth, the Delta APC would begin to win elections through his firsthand knowledge of how to achieve success.
The Delta South Senatorial District hopeful disclosed these at a meeting with APC leaders from the three Warri Local Government areas of the State in Koko, Warri North Local Government Area.
“I will focus on laws that will involve our communities in the security architecture of our region, legalisation of local refineries otherwise referred to as illegal refineries, five percentage community ownership in companies and environmental laws that will protect our environment from pollution arising from the destruction of “Cotonou boats” carrying confiscated crude.

“Give me your support and I will not let you down,” he appealed to his host in Koko, while urging party members to unite, build the party and kick out the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa-led government in the state come, 2019.
Uduaghan assured that the crisis of divisions and selfish interests sinking the party would soon be resolved, maintaining that the people of the district must forward their first eleven the National Assembly.
According to a statement issued by the Media Assistant to the Delta State APC leader, Mr Monoyo Edon, Dr Uduaghan said the APC he joined is the APC that would be winning elections henceforth in the state.
Uduaghan was accompanied on the visit by APC chairmen from the three Warri LG As and party chieftains from Isoko and Ijaw axis of the State.
He revealed that his ‘John the Baptist’ role included purging his Local Government, Warri North, of external aggressors who are causing friction in the party.
“The APC that I have joined is the one that will win the election in 2019. But first, for us to win the election, we must be united and that is one of my major assignment upon moving to the progressives fold.
“I can’t be a John the Baptist if I can’t organise my house.
“I find it embarrassing that someone from another senatorial district would be sponsoring a faction in my domain.
“That has stopped today. There is only one APC and so it would be across the state,” he vowed.
Uduaghan, however, promised to turn the tide around in APC’s favour in 2019, maintaining, ” I have come with the winning streak. We shall defeat PDP in 2019 in Delta State.
“When I was on the other side, I clipped the wings of the APC. But today, I am here to reposition APC to take over power from the failing PDP come 2019.”
He appealed to delegates from the three Local Government areas to vote him in the coming APC Senatorial Primaries, promising to engender good, people-oriented representation at the Senate.
“This is the time to send someone who has capacity and influence in governance to represent our blessed district,” he enthused.
