THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Osun East Senatorial District in the forthcoming February 2019 National Assembly election, Prince Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, on Monday said his major priority if elected would be in human capital development, agriculture and job creation in his constituency.

He made this disclosure in Osogbo while fielding questions from journalists at the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Council.

Fadahunsi, a retired Assistant Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service, who was also the candidate of the PDP for Osun East Senatorial District during 2015 National Assembly election attributed growing insecurity, armed robbery and kidnapping around Ijesa axis to alleged activities of Fulani herdsmen and unemployment.

According to him, “our constituency is blessed with natural resources such as gold and precious stones, which are being explored by miners, mainly from the North with the backing of some powerful elements. If I am elected, I would push for legislation that would make Osun State and my constituency to generate revenues from the mining of the gold and other natural deposits.”

“The gold extracted from Ilesa axis are being taken to Kaduna for refining. Nothing stops us from having refining equipment here and thus create jobs for our people. We must do something critical to increase our revenue generation base and at the same time provide employment opportunities for our people,” Fadahunsi remarked.

He continued, “my focus would also be on agriculture. Osun East senatorial district being agrarian area can be developed to further key into large-scale cultivation of cash crops m such as cocoa. We would distribute cocoa seedlings to farmers, with a view to encourage massive production of the cocoa.”

“My aim is to give a responsive and responsible representation to the people of the district. Responsive in the sense that I intend to open a constituency office in each of the 10 local government and the area office that constitutes that district, so as to be able to get first-hand information on the needs of the people and be able to be able to respond to their yearnings accurately.”

“Responsible in the sense that I intend to run my office as the service centre of the people, whose mandate they have given to me to hold in high trust for them,” Fadahunsi stated.
