INDIGENES of Ikoyi-Ekiti community home and abroad are mobilising to celebrate their monarch, the Onikoyi of Ikoyi kingdom in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Oba Moses Akinwande Ogundana on the first anniversary of his enthronement.
The coronation anniversary, in a statement signed by the planning committee chairman and publicity secretary, Professor Olugbenga Aribisala and Prince Oluwole Fagbewesa respectively, will hold from August 15 and 18.
The statement called on sons and daughters of the community to join hands to make the anniversary memorable.
While calling on members of the community to contribute generously to the success of the event, the statement noted that Ikoyi-Ekiti had been on the fast lane of development and progress since Oba Ogundana ascended the throne.
Commending the monarch for his commitment towards developing the town and his transparent leadership, the people have promised to ensure that the anniversary becomes the talk of the town in the council area.
“We are delighted at the coming anniversary of our traditional ruler. He is a committed and transparent leader whose love and interest for his community are second to none. That is why we are doing our best possible to ensure that the event goes as it is expected.”
