Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Kpotun-Idris
THE Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Ibrahim Idris, has reinstated Mr Ali Janga as the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Kogi State Command, William Aya, said the embattled commissioner had since returned to his duty post.
The IGP had last week removed the commissioner following the escape of six suspects from SARS Police cell at the ‘A’ Divisional police in Lokoja.
Some of the suspects that escaped from the cell were those that indicated the senator representing Kogi west senatorial district, Dino Melaye, over the allegation of sponsoring and providing for them to cause a crisis in the state.
Janga was replaced with a new CP, Mr Sunday Ogbu.

However, Aya explained that Janga was reinstated after meeting the one-week ultimatum given to him to re-arrest the suspects who escaped from police custody.
The Kogi Police Command had on April 2 confirmed that all the six suspects that escaped from its custody in Lokoja were rearrested and have been moved to the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
