The Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Zamfara State chapter, under the leadership of the Eze Igbo of Zamfara, Mr Egbuna Obijiaku, recently held interdenominational prayers for the peace and unity of the nation and the state .
In his opening address, Obijiaku disclosed that the focus of the interdenominational prayers was to pray for peace in the nation and Zamfara in particular, and the leaders, emphasising that “we need peace in this country and we want the nation to remain united.”
The father of the occasion, Bishop Godwin Desire Okafor, in his message, urged the congregation as well all other religious denominations to pray for the unity, security and prosperity of the nation and also pray for wisdom for people in leadership positions.
“Our nation and leaders need prayers and as Christian, we must take it as an obligation to take full part in praying for the development and peaceful coexistence of the nation in general and Zamfara State in particular,” Okafor stated.
