Igbo traders association commits to partnership with Kwara govt

Newly inaugurated leadership of the Kwara Igbo Traders Association (KWAITA) has said that it is committed to partnership and collaboration with the Kwara state government in safeguarding Igbo enterprises within the state.

Delivering his acceptance speech during inauguration of the new leadership of the association, the president, Chief Bonachuks Udoka Chukwuemeka, pledged to engage with the state government led by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and other relevant agencies to ensure seamless operation and protection of Igbo businesses.

The KWAITA president also assured Igbo traders of his dedication to advancing their welfare and interests.

Chief Udoka, thus, urged Igbo traders to uphold the law and refrain from any actions that could incite discord between them and the local community.

He further assured that no Igbo trader in the state would face victimization under his leadership.

Chief Udoka currently holds the position of Vice President (Commerce) at the Kwara State Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KWACCIMA), as well as being the president of the Indigenous People of Anambra State Town unions (ASATU).

The election was overseen by the executive committee of the Igbo Community Association, Kwara state, under the leadership of President General, Chief Boniface Okeke, who commended the traders and encouraged the newly elected officers to elevate the traders to new heights.

Immediate past President, Sr. Emma Ezezue, expressed gratitude to the traders for their support during his tenure and urged the new executive committee to surpass their achievements as he formally handed over the reins.

Other officers elected are Prince Eze Ohaeri, First Vice President; Mr. Aloysius Nwora; Second Vice President, Engineer Igwe Victor; Secretary General, Maduabuchi Ezuike; First Assistant Secretary, Ezeobi Chinedu; Second Assistant Secretary, Sunday Okafor; Financial Secretary, Azubike Nwokwa; Assistant Financial Secretary, Chief Nathaniel Nwogwugwu; Treasurer Peter Iloegbo; Public Relations Officer (PRO), Ifeanyi Success; Assistant PRO, Sunday Ezenwa; Chief Provost Simon Onowo; Assistant Provost Raphael Onorah, Chief Welfare Officer Orizu Kenneth; Second Welfare Officer Damian Onwa Dike and Third Welfare Officer.
