In a statement by the Publicity Secretary, Mr Chris Osa Nehikhare, he explained that after a very successful primary, the party was proud to release the names of all its successful candidates for all the constituencies in the state.
A breakdown of the list of the candidates for the elections showed that two incumbent senators; Mr Matthew Urhoghide (Edo South) and Clifford Ordia (Edo Central) are to run again in 2019 while a former two-time House of Representatives not member for Etsako Federal Constituency, Engineer Abubakar Momoh will fly the party flag in Edo North.
Also for the House of Representatives, four incumbents which included scion of the Igbinedion family, Ms Omosede Igbinedion (Ovia), Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama (Oredo), Joe Edionwele (Esan Central/West/Igueben) and Sergius Ogun (Esan North East/South East) were given the party tickets.
According to Nehikhare, Uwa Osunbor (Orhionmwon/Uhunmwode), Jude Ise-Idehen (Egor/Ikpoba Okha), Johnson Abolagba Owan), Blessing Agbomere (Etsako) and Bankole Balogun (Akoko Edo) emerged victorious.
He further disclosed that 24 candidates are to fly the party’s flag in the various constituencies for the House of Assembly election, adding that with a rancour-free primary, the party was poised for a resounding victory in the forthcoming election.
